Spread over 6.54 square miles, Secaucus has a population of over 16,000 and is present within the New Jersey Meadowlands. This town from Hudson County in New Jersey state derives its name from the Algonquian words for ‘black’ and ‘snake’, which makes its literal translation as ‘place of snakes’.
